The Victorian Disability Worker Commission and the Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria are pleased to be contributing to the important work of the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability currently underway.
The Commission and the Board hope that through the public recognition of the harm many people with disability have experienced, and the recommendations that come out of this Royal Commission, we see significant change in the lives of people with disability.
Our submission highlights that the Disability Worker Regulation Scheme in Victoria covers all disability workers, not just those funded by NDIS, our important role in making the disability sector an attractive place to work and how the Scheme sees Victoria leading the nation in protecting the rights of people with disability.
